Symbolic Ceremony: scheduled to commence promptly at 6:00PM at Terrazza delle Ancora on the grounds of Tonnara di Scopello. Please be sure to arrive with plenty of time to get to the venue. - UNPLUGGED CEREMONY -As we prepare for our special day, we kindly ask that you please be fully present during our ceremony by leaving your phones, cameras, and all other devices off and tucked away. We want to create an intimate atmosphere where we can share this meaningful moment with you, free from distractions.We have a professional (and amazing) photographer and videographer capturing the memories this way you don't have to, so please relax and enjoy the moment with us, phone and device free!We appreciate your understanding and support in making this time even more memorable!! Tonnara di Scopello

The accommodation at Tonnara di Scopello is apartment suite style, rather than a traditional hotel style. Each apartment suite is unique and can sleep anywhere between 2 to 6 people - all with windows overlooking the sea and with private beach access. Additionally, each apartment has a small kitchen, including a fridge, and will be serviced daily.

Other meals not covered by catered events. There is an onsite café where you can buy simple Sicilian street food (pizza, paninis, etc), coffee, soft drinks, beer and cocktails. You can pay at the counter, or bill this to your room, noting you will need to settle the bill upon checking out.

Room rates will vary by apartment size and number of guests per room.Being that each exclusive suite will vary in size prices will be discussed individually with guests who are staying. Because there are only 15 apartments, we will be working with attendees individually on apartment assignments. If there are people attending that you would like to share an apartment with please let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate!

Guests can begin arriving to the venue for check in at 4 PM. If you arrive before 4 PM, you can leave your bags in reception and head down to the private beach to enjoy the property.

GUEST CHECK OUT

Sadly, at 10 AM, it’ll be time to check out of our rooms.We can still enjoy breakfast from 8 AM to 10 AM, and if you want, you can spend the day at Tonnara di Scopello enjoying the beach, leaving your bags with reception.

Acommodations

The best airport to fly into is going to be Falcone Borsellino (PMO) located in Palermo, as it is the closest airport to our venue.Direct flights are now being offered from JFK to PMO through Neos Airlines and from Newark (EWR) to PMO through United Airlines. The days offered for direct flights are limited so if you are looking to fly direct out of the US, flights will be on Mondays and Saturdays arriving in PMO on Tuesdays and Sundays.If you're not interested in direct flights there are a multitude of options such as flying into Rome or Milan and then catching a connecting flight to Palermo.

There is a lot to explore in Sicily, and because public transportation is limited, we would strongly recommend renting a car for the full Sicilian experience.*Please note that there are no Ubers in the area.* Renting a car - When renting a car, make sure to reserve in advance, especially if you want an automatic transmission. Most booking platforms will default to a manual transmission, so ensure that you're selecting the correct option when booking.When you book your vehicle select pick up and drop off times as your arrival &amp; departure from the airport, pick-up and drop off is quite effortless that way! Alessandra's family is from a small town in Sicily called Torretta. Her father and his 5 siblings were born and raised here and some of her aunts, uncles and cousins still live there!Although as a tourist there is not much to see in the sweet and small town, it is a great and convenient place to rent an Airbnb.Being just under thirty minutes from the airport, thirty minutes to Palermo, ten minutes to the mall (and McDonalds if you're into that!)Fifteen minutes away from the closest beach (Isola delle Femine or Capaci)It makes it the perfect location to stay.Below we'll will list 2 airbnb’s in which Alessandra and Will have rented over the years that are owned by both friends &amp; family :

Alessandra has stayed here 5 times! The owners name is Giuseppe and you can tell him she referred you!Casale Orioles is a newly built house. The apartment is fully furnished and equipped with every comfort. The apartment consists of a living room with sofa bed, TV and kitchen (stove, oven, fridge and kitchen utensils) bathroom with shower and bedroom with double bed and closet (an additional single bed or toddler bed can be added upon request). The apartment is also equipped with air conditioning, heating, WiFi internet and is delivered complete with sheets, towels and hair dryer as well as a small kit for personal hygiene. The apartment also has a road map of Sicily and tour guides in various languages. The exterior consists of a large furnished veranda and a large green space available to guests, with barbecue for outdoor grills, a corner with a washing machine and clothesline and ample parking.

IS THE WEDDING OUTDOORS OR INDOORS? Weather permitting, our symbolic ceremony and reception will be held completely outdoors.

WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE? Sicily is absolutely beautiful in July but also HOT. July welcomes pleasant, and pretty consistent weather in Sicily and more hours of daylight, with average daily temperatures ranging from 75'℉ to 100℉ during the day, with cooler evenings of typically around 68℉. On July 7th 2025 the weather was sunny with a high of 94℉ and a low of 77℉

AM I ALLOWED TO BRING A PLUS ONE? Our celebration is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your wedding invitation. Thank you so much for understanding.

I'M HERE FOR THE FOOD, WHAT ARE WE HAVING?!? Sicilian cuisine is a true reflection of the island’s rich history, cultural fusion, and its deep connection to the land and sea.We will be having a variety of fresh seafood, pastas, meats and cheeses and of course some typical Sicilian small bites.Come hungry!!! *If you have dietary restrictions, please let us know in your formal RSVP*

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I AM UNABLE TO ATTEND? If you are unable to attend the wedding RSVP information will be included in the formal invitations, please be so kind as to RSVP "NO" as soon as possible so that we can make adjustments accordingly. WHAT CAN I WEAR TO THE WELCOME PARTY? For our night before welcome party we want you to feel free to dress in a casual beach cocktail attire.Pack your favorite outfits; ladies &amp; gents alike.Think colorful midi or maxi dresses for women and fun khaki shorts or pants for men (any colors are welcome apart from white, cream, ivory eggshell etc!)See mood board below.

IS THERE A DRESS CODE FOR THE WEDDING? The dress code for our wedding is *Formal Attire*Please make our wedding your runway. Go all out and have fun with your outfit colors, textures and patterns. Ladies - A floor length gown or maxi dress. Opt for bright summer colors. Please AVOID any and all shades of white, ivory, cream, or off-white. If you want to up the elegance factor, consider sumptuous fabrics like lace and tulle, both of which are light, airy and breathable but still have an upscale vibe.As for shoes, we recommend a block heel, sandals, ballerina flats, kitten heels or formal wedge sandals as the floor is cobblestone and uneven. Gentlemen - As for men, wear either a suit or a long-sleeved shirt and tie with a jacket and slacks. Opt for solid colors, like brown, sage grey and light blue. Please note that the darker the color suit you wear the hotter you will feel! Additionally, be sure to select a look with a breathable fabric such as linen as you won't feel as hot in it. Dress shoes or loafers that complement the slacks are required, while t-shirts, shorts and flip-flops/sandals are not permitted.

WHAT COLOR SHOULD I WEAR? We'd love to see our guests in BRIGHT COLORS!!Bright, colorful summer tones such as pinks, blues, yellows, purples, oranges, and greens. Both prints and solids are welcome. Please avoid wearing dark colors like black, dark brown and navy (and the obvious white, cream, ivory &amp; off-white!) Below is a mood board to look at for inspiration.

CAN I EXTEND MY STAY AT THE TONNARA DI SCOPELLO? Unfortunately the Tonnara is only able to offer accommodations for our guests July 6th-8th. If you are interested in staying on the property before or after the wedding you may reach out to the Tonnara directly to ask for availability. Please note these rooms sell out rather quickly so if you are interested it's best to book over a month in advance. THE HISTORY OF

Tonnara Di Scopello

Nestled along the rugged coastline of northwestern Sicily, is a place where history and nature intertwine in breathtaking harmony. With its origins tracing back to the 13th century, this ancient tuna fishery stands as a testament to Sicily’s deep-rooted connection to the sea and its age-old traditions.For centuries, the&nbsp;mattanza, a dramatic and ritualistic tuna fishing practice, defined the rhythm of life in Scopello. Skilled fishermen, known as&nbsp;tonnaroti, carried out this elaborate process, guided by knowledge passed down through generations. The labyrinth of underwater nets, the rhythmic chants of the workers, and the sheer power of the sea created a spectacle that was beautifully poetic.The Tonnara di Scopello is on the route where large groups of tuna would travel towards the small island of&nbsp;Favignana&nbsp;to lay down their eggs. The natural shape of Scopello forms a nice base for the fisherman to catch, kill, and preserve the tuna with olive oil.The activity started much earlier than we can imagine, but it became well managed and strengthened by proper organization and tools in the 15th century, and, thanks to&nbsp;the Florio family&nbsp;in the 19th century, productivity was increased at a pretty decent rate. The Tonnara flourished during the 19th century, reaching the height of its prosperity. However as the fishing industry evolved and the traditional methods waned, the Tonnara gradually fell into disuse.Today, it remains a preserved historical site, a place of nostalgia and beauty, where visitors can wander through time.
